This 5,000 sq. foot custom vacation residence is located on front beach. The main living level is a "reverse" plan so that it occurs on the second floor to allow for better ocean views. Our client wanted a home that had traditional elements but spoke to the time in which it was built. Therefore we designed what we called THE MILLENNIUM PLANTATION HOME. The home's elliptical wrap around porches extend the living space while taking advantage of prevailing sea breezes. The lower floor incorporates Beaufort style porches utilizing exposed structure. These porches encapsulate an almost all glass living area while the bedrooms and private areas are housed in a more traditional closed structure. The flying front steps and horizontal metal railing system are a current interpretation of plantation and maritime imagery.
